We have an incredible appetite for great stories, specifically, great romance. In one of my fellowship studies with marketplace men in New York City, I mentioned that one of my favorite scenes is in the movie "Jerry Maguire," in which Tom Cruise repentantly returns to Renee Zelwigger asking for forgiveness and reconciliation. The only thing he can say that communicates his love is to declare, "You complete me!"
In another great romance, a humble king pursues a feckless girl. She discovers not only her fallen ways, but that this humble king completes her as no other lover. And she too declares to Him, "Forgive me, for you and you alone complete me?" to which this holy king responds, "You had me on hello!"
