The strategy of thanks

Did you know that it is the Holy Spirit’s job to help you and me with our prayers. Yup. That’s part of his job description. It’s His job to help us arrive at the destination that we are seeking. What is this destination all about? See, God already has a kingdom. He isn’t trying to figure out how to fix what’s broken. That is why Jesus told the disciples to pray, “thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

Thanksgiving is really a powerful demonstration that we recognize and are grateful for what we have received already.

One of my favorite Scriptures is Proverbs 27:7 The full soul loathes an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.

"Gratitude confirms relationship," Pastor AR Bernard once told me. God already has a kingdom, but what good is God having a kingdom, if He doesn’t have that kingdom inside of you and me?

Always remember that the kingdom of God is an inside job.

Want some help with your thanksgiving? Ask the expert: the Holy Spirit. Here are a couple of HS tips on prayer during this season.

Rom 8:26

And the Holy Spirit helps us in our distress. For we don't even know what we should pray for, nor how we should pray. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.

I have never stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the wonderful future he has promised to those he called. I want you to realize what a rich and glorious inheritance he has given to his people. I pray that you will begin to understand the incredible greatness of his power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God's right hand in the heavenly realms. Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else in this world or in the world to come. Eph 1:16-21

At times I might shut up the heavens so that no rain falls, or I might command locusts to devour your crops, or I might send plagues among you. Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and heal their land. 2Ch 7:13-14

Happy Thanksgiving to the God Who Loves us unconditionally, every day!
